科學(xué)家宣稱與人乳擁有相同的屬性的牛奶可能會(huì)被澳大利亞人使用。

    中國(guó)科學(xué)家通過基因改造奶牛的性狀，使其生產(chǎn)出的牛奶含有的蛋白可以抵抗感染菌。

    CSIRO（澳大利亞聯(lián)邦科學(xué)與工業(yè)研究組織）的研究中心的科學(xué)家Ross Tellam，告訴記者，這種牛奶可以為那些不能以母乳喂養(yǎng)或者選擇不以母乳喂養(yǎng)新生兒的母親的提供一個(gè)替代品。

    他說，“這種牛奶投放到澳大利亞市場(chǎng)上只是時(shí)間問題。如果這種牛奶被證明是安全有益的，我覺得，澳大利亞的乳品行業(yè)沒有理由不考慮使用。”

    Scientists say cow milk that has the same properties as human breast milk could soon be available to Australian consumers.

    Chinese scientists have genetically modified cattle to produce milk containing a protein that protects against infectious bacteria.

    CSIRO research scientist, Ross Tellam, says it has the potential to serve as an alternative for mothers who cannot or choose not to breastfeed their newborns.

    He says it is only a matter of time before it is marketed to Australians.

    "If it was proven to be safe and beneficial; I think there's no reason why the Australian dairy industry couldn't consider this," he said.

    "But in a very niche market, you'd have to separate this milk from the mainstream milk supply."

    However, Gene Ethics Network director, Bob Phelps, says the Australian dairy industry should avoid the technology altogether.

    "Here's a natural system that we should keep in place and that's mothers feeding their infants," he said.

    "It can't be bettered as far as I'm concerned, and I think proposing gene-manipulated cows to be an alternative to mothers feeding their own infants is just heading off in the wrong direction."
